Tunisia is a phenomenal tourist destination that boasts a unique North African culture. With many different cities on display in the country, choosing the right one to visit is essentially important. Although it isn’t overly large, the town of Hammamet is one of the best places to holiday in the country.

Flying into the city is not possible, but the airport of Tunis is located to the north of the city, while the Monastir Airport is about an hours drive south. Hammamet hotels can be reached from both airports rather easily, and getting from the accommodation to the sites of town is best done on foot or by taxis. Tourists should plan for a holiday of at least four or five days in Hammamet.

Like most of Tunisia, Hammamet gets most of its income from tourism. Therefore, it is not surprising that the city contains many interesting and well preserved activities and attractions for people to explore.

Hammamet’s climate is generally hot and dry for most of the year. Combine this with the fact that it is a coastal town, and one will be able to understand the importance of Hammamet’s beaches. There are plenty of things to do at the beach. The water is usually very clean and clear, making it perfect for swimming. Visitors to the beaches will be able to see many swimmers stroking through the water throughout most of the day.

However, the beach areas offer much more than just swimming. Of course, sunbathing is a popular thing for women and men, with the suns rays providing the perfect ingredient for a super tan. In addition to this, there are many more thrilling, rather than relaxing, activities, including sailing, windsurfing, beach volleyball, beach football, and jet skiing.

Certainly, no trip to Hammamet is complete without a shopping experience. Well, there is no better shopping experience available than the medina experience. Located close to the beachfront of the town, Hammamet’s medina zone is an exciting area full of chaosâ
